Lamborghini Gallardo Gets the Akrapovic Exhaust Treatment

The Gallardo Coupe and Spyder have just received Akrapovic’s slip-onexhaust.

Tuners from Slovenia Akrapovic Exhaust Systems Technology have given the popular Lamborghini Gallardo a new titanium exhaust system.The system provides a much more boisterous exhaust note along with addedperformance from the Italian supercar's Coupe and Spyder variants.A solid extra 15hp and 20 lb-ft of torque emanate from the Gallardo's V10 engine thanks to the new exhaust system.
It is also much lighter than the Raging Bull's standard, saving an impressive 40lbs due in part to carbon tailpipes. A fantastic sound emanates from the Italian supercar and there is also an optional wireless-controlled valve system allowing the driver to control his own volume.Akrapovic's new titanium exhaust system is available for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, LP560-4 Spyder, LP570-4 Superleggera, LP570-4 Performante and LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. Pricing is set at €5,200 for the exhaust system, while the wireless-controlled valve system runs an extra €390.

DMC, a tuning firm from Germany has released the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP540 GT3 Generazioni for paying tribute to the twin Fabio Babini and Matteo Zucchi which have recently won Silverstone leg of this year’s Blancpain Super Trofeo. The new LP540 GT3 Generazioni is basically a Lamborghini Gallardo LP540 with new aerodynamic body kit and a modified engine.

The new aerodynamic body kit for GT3 Generazioni include new GT3 front and rear bumpers, carbon spoiler, extra wide fenders, carbon fiber enhanced side skirts, new rear bumper diffuser, restyled rear wing in carbon fiber or fiber glass as well as a set of 20-inch forged wheels Diamond. The cabin also gets a little carbon fiber treatment for steering wheel, door openers, as well as the seats.

While for the engine modification, DMC provides an ECU remap for the LP540′s 5.2-liter V10 engine, improving power output from 540 HP to 566 HP and 475 lb/ft of torque.

You’d hardly expect Ferrari to be absent from a list of the most powerful cars of all time. This manufacturer’s fantastic catalogue of cars makes it an obvious choice to include the Prancing Horse in our top five. With an astonishing 612bhp on offer, the Ferrari 599 GTB can reach amazing speeds of up to 205 miles per hour, while also reaching 62mph from zero before four seconds are up. The 599 GTB looks as amazing as any other Ferrari, in addition to offering the kind of speeds that you would normally only dream of. A big garage would be handy, however, if you don’t want pigeons and prying eyes near its gorgeous bodywork.

GMG Apollo
Hold on a second, didn’t I just say that the Ferrari 599 GTB offers speeds that you could normally only dream of? Well, if I did, it turns out that there’s a car that matches it – the German-built GMG Apollo, which can hit 62mph in three seconds flat and that packs 650bhp. This car may have gorgeous gullwing doors, but you aren’t advised to attempt to take flight by opening them at 360km per hour!

Bugatti
The Bugatti Veyron is a favourite of many people, and offers the kind of frankly ludicrous figures that could embarrass even the GMG Apollo, being capable of reaching 62mph in 2.5 seconds and boasting 987bhp. This is a super car, out of this world with an engine that supplies raw power and a design that is beautifully elegant and sleek.

The 640bhp Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is capable of hitting a 211mph maximum speed, making it another favourite of car lovers everywhere and ensuring that you’ll never again be late for work! This Lamborghini matches an engine that is oriented towards speed with a touch of style and class on the outside with the help of the company’s traditional vertical doors.

Mercedes-Benz
If you want to feel like you’re Lewis Hamilton, you could do worse than drive the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR, which has a carbon fiber chassis and combines unique style and performance. You’d surely have to be the biggest speed freak around not to be happy with this car’s 650bhp and 337 km per hour maximum speed, although getting car insurance for this bad boy could be more easily said than done!

In the 70s it was the Miura to excite the imagination of every teenager in the world, followed in the 80s by the Countach, and in the next decade by the famous Diablo. Nowadays, since Lambo is being owned by Audi, they have presented us the Murciélago, offered with AWD in standard, but as ruthless as all of its ancestors.

For 2011 Lamborghini are preparing a come-back, with a new supercar. The name of the future car is hard to be predicted, as by tradition, each new Lambo gets to be named after a famous fighting bull. Murciélago, as an example comes from a bull that survived 245 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honor. In another Lamborghini tie-in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls.

We can easily preview in the new car, the Traditional LP (Longitudinale Posteriore, Italian for “rear longitudinally-mounted) V12 engine, with a displacement increased probably to 7.0 liters. Power is expected to increase accordingly, and offer up to 700 bhp, for the “base version”. Transmission is expected to be AWD, as in the recent Audi developed Lamborghinis.

Lamborghini eagerly begins the New Year with the much anticipated unveiling of the Lamborghini Miura Concept, a modern interpretation of the Lamborghini Miura. Currently celebrating its fortieth anniversary, the Miura was originally designed by Marcello Gandini and first publicly presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Nuccio Bertone. The new concept model which, as of now, is strictly a concept with no firm date set for its production launch, is the inspired creation of Walter de? Silva, the world-famous Audi designer. He has redesigned every aspect of the car while remaining absolutely faithful to the original form.

The new car retains the extraordinary purity of line, characteristic of the original Miura: the designer's intervention has been defined by refining the contours and eliminating any superfluous detail, in order to enhance the clean, simple lines and perfectly balanced proportions of the original that so impassioned enthusiasts. The restyling of the lower part of the body takes the car's structural strength and aerodynamic performance to new heights, without disturbing the delicate aesthetic equilibrium. Even the touches of contemporary styling applied to the interior, the lights and the wheels have been carefully measured to achieve a homogenous design that is both timeless and immediately recognisable. The Lamborghini Miura Concept will be on show at the Lamborghini stand at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
